Master’s student in environmental sciences,
activist.
Helsinki needs to protect its valuable natural habitats and take bold action to tackle the climate crisis.
Don’t f*ck with nature.

Why am I running for the city council of Helsinki?
I’m a nature-loving environmental scientist who never gives up when it comes to defending biodiversity. Spending time outdoors in nearby forests and along the seashore with my rescue dog is a cornerstone of my life. I’m also an activist, and protecting old-growth forests is especially close to my heart.
I work as a political assistant in the Green Parliamentary Group while finishing my studies in the master’s program in Environmental Change and Global Sustainability. During this council term, I have served as a deputy member of the Urban Environment Committee.
I’m running for office because I want to protect Helsinki’s valuable local nature, ensure the achievement of Finland’s ambitious climate goals, and improve animal welfare.
My promises
Nearby Nature
I promise to preserve nearby nature and ensure that valuable natural sites in Helsinki are permanently protected. More homes for new Helsinki residents are needed all the time, but in the future new buildings should be directed to already built-up areas such as old industrial sites and parking lots, not natural sites.
Nearby nature has multiple health benefits and I want to ensure that everyone has access to nature close to home. Helsinki also has many valuable natural sites, old forests and stunning shorelines, which must be strictly protected.
Climate Action
I promise to ensure that Helsinki does its part in combating the climate crisis. With coal- fueled power plants finally closing, the city’s largest source of emissions will be transportation. I vow to reduce the harmful effects of private car use on the climate, urban livability, and air quality, and to promote shifting public transport to rail, as well as improving conditions for cycling and walking.
Additionally, we must significantly reduce the consumption of animal products and protect forests that serve as carbon sinks.
Animal Rights
I promise to actively promote animal welfare in Helsinki, for both pets and farm animals, as well as for wildlife. Urban planning in Helsinki must better account for making cities more pet-friendly and ensuring that wildlife has the opportunity to live safely in the city.
Due to the terrible treatment of farm animals and the environmental and health harms, public catering should prioritize vegan options and avoid animal products in public procurement.
